Unfortunately, the sun will be rising, same as every year, from the East, so the first performances of the airshow will be backlighted.
From the organization, we are aware that spotters prefer the airshow to be in the afternoon, but, although it has been considered, it's impossible due to the fact that, during the five hours of the Festa al Cel, Barcelona's airport traffic must modify its arrival procedures when in runway 25 landing configuration, which is difficult but doable in the morning.
However, in the afternoon, the rise in air traffic makes this option totally unfeasable.
This year, we'll try to offer the possibility of watching the airshow from the opposite angle to a small number of spotters, onboard a boat, so that they can catch some photographs that are not just well-lighted, but also with the city of Barcelona as background.
We are already woring on the definitive list of spotters onboard the "Santa Eulàlia", a 3-mast packet boat from 1918. We will soon contact the many spotters who have sent us their petition.
