The Spanish Air Force jet display team returns to Barcelona to cellebrate its 25th anniversary. The 7 CASA C-101 Aviojets will close the airshow with their spectacular nature and precision.
This year, Patrulla Águila's leader is from Barcelona, Comandante José María "Pep" Alonso.

Along with Patrulla Águila, Aspa is one of the favourites among Barcelona's airshow visitors. The display team turns 5 years old and add novelties to their routine, such as a smoke system which makes them even more impressive.
They are probably the best helicopter display team in the world.

The Ala 12 Display Pilot from the Base Aérea de Torrejón will leave us dumbfounded while he makes his McDonell-Douglas F-18 Hornet dance in the sky.

The Grupo 43, off Torrejón, is the first to get to the bushfires whenever they are required.

The "botijo" will perform water drops and sea landings in front of the audience.

The Puma helicopter from Search & Rescue Escuadrón 801 in Palma de Mallorca will perform a sea rescue simulation.
These helicopters and their crew are in charge of looking after the ships sailing through the Mediterranean.

The Alpha Jet, on top of being the Patrouille de France airplane, is a very capable trainer, as will be shown by its display pilot.

François Le Vot Aerobatics


"Paquito", as he is affectionately known in the spanish aerobatic community, is as good a pilot as he is fun and showmanly. He will hipnotize us again with his impossible maneouvers with his Extra 330SC.
François Le Vot is the current unlimited aerobatics bronze medalist and a member of the French Airforce Aerobatics Team .

It's not the plane, it's the pilot... Commander Michel "Mitch" Beulen from the Belgian Air Component is one of the most impressive display pilots in Europe, and he will show us what he is capable of with his F-16.

The T-6 Harvard/Texan was one of the most built trainers during WW2 in the USA.

Easy to fly in its time, it was perfect to make the transition to the bigger, more powerful warbirds.

When an airplane is built non-stop from 1949 to 1991, you know it's special. The Antonov 2 is a multirole airplane, with tasks such as cargo and passenger transport, crop dusting, firefighting, parachute drops, etc.
It has a special ability to operate from very short runways.

The Akrobat is the single-seat version of Trener Master, with very similar flight characteristics.

It mounts a 6-cylinder, 160 hp inverted Walther engine.

The Flamingo is an utility plane designed for pilot training, and was built by MBB, heir to the famous Messerschmitt company.

It's semi-aerobatic, and only two flying units remain in Europe.

The Bücker Jungmann have been everywhere in aviation as trainers and aerobatic airplanes ever since the 30s. Made of wood, fabric, and metal, and practically undestructables in flight, they take us to another era.

Two airplanes of this kind will perform at the airshow.

Hispano Aviación Super Saeta


The Saeta was the first jet made in Spain. Designed by Willy Messerschmitt, this twin-engined jet served in he Spanish Air Force as a combat aircraft and trainer.
We'll see two units in flight: one belonging to the Fundació PAC and the other belonging to Victor Lleó, from the Club Acrobático Mediterráneo.

Considered by many the best WW2 airplane, the fact is it was the most loved in the USA. So much that the Ford Mustang sports car takes its name from this airplane.

We will see, and most of all, hear, this WW2 jewel.

This late WW2 russian trainer was nicknamed "the russian T-6" due to its similar flight behaviour.

It perfectly represents all radial engine russian warbirds of that era.

Unfortunately, there are no flying Mitsubitshi Zeros left, but some T-6 have been modified to resemble the japanese airplane.

They are the ones we see in Hollywood movies posing as Zeros, and one of these will come to Barcelona.

Bombers de la Generalitat


Nicknamed "Zapatones" by their pilots, the Air Tractor is the first to get to the large bushfires in Catalonia, since it can land and scoop water from lakes.

It will perform alongside a B3 Waterbomber helicopter.

The first seaplane that comes to mind if we think about classic WW2 models is the Catalina. It's a giant aircraft capable of sea landing in very difficult weather conditions, and which saved hundreds of crew members who had ditched on the sea during WW2.

The Agusta Westland 139 Helicopter will perform a sea rescue demonstration in which a sailor has fallen overboard and has to be located and rescued in a very short period of time.

Located in Reus, the Sea Rescue helicopters are always on call for any emergency in the Mediterranean.

Team Swift

Swift Glider Team


For the first time in Spain, we'll see how an unpowered glider can be as spectacular as a powered airplane performing aerobatics.

The team is composed by a tow plane, a MDM-1 Fox glider, and one of the Silence from Twister Duo. Very curious!
